Salvation is by the free grace of God, we cannot merit it by our works, and we cannot achieve it by our good deeds. It is a free gift, all we can do is wonder in amazement at its benevolence and receive it.
" For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is a gift of God" (Ephesians 2 v 8)
"For if by one man offence (Adam’s sin) death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ." (Romans 5 v 17)
Prayer
Thank you Lord, that you have given to me salvation by your free gift of grace. I receive it by faith and will trust you to keep me in the protection of that grace. Help me to share with others the wonderful gift you have given, knowing there is no way I can ever repay it. Thank you Lord with all my heart.
